Engraved name tags are composed of a two piece plastic material that is heat laminated together to form a 1/16” thick engravable plastic. A thin top surface is laminated to a much thicker core material. The top surface will be the name tag color and when one etches through the surface the core or letter color is reveled. The surface of the plastic is generally fairly scratch resistant and should provide the wearer with many years of adequate service. Engraved name tags have a vast array of color combinations to choose from; however the material only creates a two color name tag. Also you must work with the available colors as custom coloring is not available.

In today’s world engraved name tags are etched utilizing a laser engraver. The laser is a vast improvement over the standard rotary engraver. Laser engraving allows for use of a much wider variety of typefaces and also has the added ability of engraving your company or organization logo on the name tag.
